APAS - Australian Paint Approval Scheme - What this means to you, our customer!
APAS - Australian Paint Approval Scheme - What this means to you, our customer!

This is a set of PAINT STANDARDS issued by the Federal Government and administered by the CSIRO. Achievement of these standards only comes after long periods of testing and adherence to ISO International Accredited Manufacturing Standards (eg.ISO9001).

The paint manufacturing standards and formulations need to be maintained and tested ongoing in order to maintain Approval Numbers.

An Approval Number is given to each individual product only after they have been subjected to many different quality tests.

Some of the standards measured include-

-adhesion , -opacity, -gloss level, -durability , -washability , -uv exposure, as well as many other paint characteristics, depending on the product.

This means equivalent performance products with the same approval numbers can be found across many different brands of paint, making it easier for specifiers and architects to be assured of the quality of the paint to be used.

The APAS standards, also allow for pre-approval for submission for all government and public works projects.

APAS standards and their other overseas equivalent standards systems internationally,

now means that our products have a framework for comparison against other international brands
