Brin-A-Bond
DESCRIPTION
An acrylic bonding and sealing compound which may be used for many interior and exterior applications.
Whenever this product is used, the usual requirements for surface preparation should be adopted. All loose and flaking material shouild be removed, surfaces must be clean and free from grease and other contamination. Brin-a-bond is to be diluted 1 part water to 1 part Brin-a-Bond by volume. Exceptions to this rule are listed in the following suggested applications.
APPLICATIONS INCLUDE:
1. To seal and undercoat any porous surface, paint
with 2 coats of Brin-a-Bond at 2 hour intervals. Finish
using normal painting procedures.
2. Surfaces previously painted with Kalsomine. Remove
all loose and flaking material. Seal with 2
coats of Brin-a-Bond diluted 1 part Brin-a-Bond to
4 parts water.
3. To improve adhesion of PVA paint, add 500ml Brin-a-Bond
to each 4 litres of paint.
4. Brin-a-Bond may be used as a size on new plaster
before applying wallpaper. Dilute 1 part to 2 parts
water.
5. To make lime wash, mix diluted Brin-a-Bond with hydrated
lime to a brushable consistency, adding water if necessary.
Tint with cement oxides.
6. When dust-proofing and sealing, apply 1 or 2 coats
of Brin-a-Bond diluted 1 part to 3 parts water.
Brin-a-Bond may also be used as a n additive for cement mixes and to prepare cement surfaces for topping. Brin-a-Bond is a versatile product with application limited only by the ingenuity of the user. If in doubt, contact the Brinlay Paints Technical department for advice.
GENERAL DATA
CLEAN UP: Water and detergent. Dried spots can be removed using Brinlay General Purpose Cleaners.
FLASH POINT: Non Flammable.
TOXICITY: Brin-a-Bond is environmentally friendly, as it is lead free, non-toxic, non-hazardous and non-flammable.
SAFETY: Provide adequate ventilation during application and drying. Keep out of reach of children. Do not dispose of waste paint or cleaning effluent through the drain. Keep in sealed containers for disposal in accordance with local regulations.
FIRST AID: If swallowed, drink plenty of water and seek medical advice. For eye contact, rinse with cold running water. Seek medical advice if irritation persists.
